[ and she'll be waiting for her in the kitchen indeed! she's sitting on the counter, kind of playing with her phone and looks up when harrow walks in ]
... I didn't get to say it during trial. But. Thank you. For cursing her.
First, let me add that the curse has not worn off. So. I may correct this account later.
She said she woke up after curfew, went to the medbay and saw you there, also awake, but couldn't go through with her plan. So she returned to the city and went to sleep.
She insisted on it so often that eventually I began to believe that I had been mistaken to believe she'd ever intended to kill, since I'd never had any real reason to think so in the first place. But I suppose somehow she overcame the curse and killed Eleanor?
There's nothing believable about "I just happened to be awake for no reason". [ she'll admit to that. ] And... I wasn't sure she did kill Eleanor. Why skip me but go for someone else?
That's why I didn't bother to expose her right away, either. Even if the curse had worked, it wouldn't exactly clear her of guilt, but. . . a killer who manages to get away with it is a bigger threat.
Yes. And has not changed my conviction that there is more to what's going on. But I don't want to trouble any of the Avatars with questions I will have to clarify later, if my premise was mistaken.
Yes. Like that. And. . . she really did insist beyond all reason she'd gone back to sleep. I told her it wasn't credible to say she'd been burned by coincidence, but she never tried to explain it.
I couldn't tell you why she targeted you. I don't feel that I knew her well, either, even though we did talk, and spent time with one another. There were things about her life she wouldn't tell me.
I don't even know if I want to know. [ or cares enough to endure kindness week to ever ask. ] There's no reason that'd justify someone trying to kill me.

. . . You don't owe me any thanks. It was a reckless plan.
I came to apologize - I wanted to keep your name out of it, when I heard, but at some point changed my mind.

[ well, it's in a tone that says she'll wait for when the curse wears off to check this, so. ]
I don't know what happened after she left. It was still early in the night when I saw her, and I never left the medbay. So.

. . . You never said anything. Because you feared suspicion falling on yourself?

[Her jaw is set a little hard.]
I didn't understand anything she said, but I think she tried to be. . . friendly?

Many of her rankings were credible.
[It's fine.]
I still don't really understand how it happened.
