[fluffier]

[ They're just chilling in the planetarium, with Yuel spread eagle on the floor, staring up at the sky. ]

Have ya ever killed anyone, Grace?

[alteracion]

[ grace is sitting next to her, leaning back on her hands as she looks up, but that makes her pause. it's almost hesitant when she answers: ]

No. [ there's another beat, and then: ] Have you?

[fluffier]

Yeah. [ Yuel on the other hand doesn't hesitate as she answers. ] I've been in a lotta fights. Sometimes it's monsters... sometimes it's people.

I... never even really thought about it. Ya just gotta do it to survive.

[alteracion]

... There aren't that many humans on the train. Fighting denizens, it just kind of happens. It's the only way to survive.

[ so she gets that part, really. she picks at her gloves, a little ]

This place isn't like that.

[fluffier]

[ She pushes herself up so that she can rest a hand on Grace's shoulder. ]

I hope ya don't have to. They weight of person's life... Their dreams and all the people they care about. Even Fukuda has people who'll miss 'im.

[alteracion]

[ there's a distant look on her face for a second, before she turns to look at yuel a little serious ]

I guess. But I won't let it stop me. I'm not letting anything kill me.

[fluffier]

[ Yuel hadn't doubted her, but she looks a little relieved at seeing her resolve, squeezing her shoulder. ]

Good. I'd hate to see anything happen to ya. Don't put yerself in danger like Omi did today.

[alteracion]

That was still so stupid.

[ speaking of stupid i just realized we were too busy being gay to do a memshare so you know what, yuel can have little a memshare, as a treat ]

[fluffier]

[ It was stupid, but she doesn't get to comment on it when suddenly she's seeing turtles and what the hay?? ]

Wh— Was that a train?!

[alteracion]

[ mumbling to herself about turtles again, but: ]

Hmhmm. That's the train. It's a lot bigger than most.

[fluffier]

That was more like an entire world!

[ SO COOL ]

Is it like the sim room?

[alteracion]

That was just one car, too. [ she grins, stretching out ] But yeah. Every car on the train is its own world. Sort of like your island kingdoms, but they've all got themes instead of kingdoms.

[fluffier]

So it's real? [ how??? space and time???? ] Who was that friend of yours?

[alteracion]

Oh, that's Simon. He's my second in command.

[ and very subtly doki for her, it's fine ]

[fluffier]

[ honestly simon? valid ]

Huh? Do ya got an army or something?

[alteracion]

Or something. It's not quite that formal. We're called the Apex. [ she gestures to the wave on her face ] This is our symbol. Cool, right?

[fluffier]

[ oh shit has that been there the entire time ]

Hehe, that is pretty cool. [ She bumps their shoulders together. ] Do ya miss 'im?

[alteracion]

[ yes, but don't worry about it, i forget myself 9 times out of 10 ]

... Sure. We've been on the train together a long time. But that's how I know he'll be fine, so it's not a big deal or anything.

[fluffier]

[ she grins ]

Just 'cause he'll be okay doesn't mean ya can't miss 'im.

[alteracion]

[ she tilts her head and grins after a pause ]

Right. Is there anyone you miss, then?

[fluffier]

[ Yuel's smile doesn't waver, though her expression does soften. ]

Yeah, my friend... She's almost like a sister to me actually. I've known her since I was a baby.

And I miss the captain of our ship, and my old powers... But I guess that makes me one of the lucky ones.

[alteracion]

[ she looks curious, shuffling a little closer to yuel because she can ]

You had powers? What were they?

[fluffier]

[ She holds out her hand, as if expecting something to appear.

Obviously nothing does. ]

It was called the foxflame. I mostly used it to create fire, but it could do other things like make stuff vanish.

[ Very useful for being mischievous.

She glances back at Grace. ]

Didn'cha have powers too? Livin' in a place like that.

[alteracion]

Not unless you count looking good a power. [ she's only half-kidding. she tilts back, though ] But no. I'm just human. So there's no difference here for me on that front.

[fluffier]

[ pinches her cheek! ]

Yer pretty amazin' even without 'em. I miss my foxflame, but it does make ya use yer brain a little more tryin' to get by without 'em.
